Chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms return to northern Arkansas on Saturday. Some of the same location that saw rainfall on Friday afternoon have the greatest precipitation chances on Saturday.
Showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible again on Sunday over northern Arkansas. The repeated chances of precipitation is the result of a frontal boundary draped just to the north of Arkansas.
On this day in weather history, the remnants of Hurricane 4 moved into the state. This brought heavy rainfall across portions of the Arkansas Delta Region and portions of western and northwestern Arkansas. Rice crops were heavily damaged due to excessive wind and rainfall across eastern Arkansas.
