Warmer than normal temperatures are expected across the forecast area this afternoon, with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s over much of the region.
Friday afternoon, heat index values are expected to reach 105 degrees over much of the Arkansas River Valley region, and into central Arkansas over the Little Rock metro area.
Chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms return to the forecast on Friday across portions of far northern Arkansas. While the probability is only at 20%, some locations should see some rainfall.
This weekend's forecast looks mostly dry across the state with only some slight chances of rain across mainly northern Arkansas. It will be quite warm, with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s and highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s.
