Isolated strong to severe storms may develop across the higher terrain of New Mexico and track to the south and east through the later afternoon and evening hours. Confidence is not high in how far east they track or how intensity they may be if they affect the western Panhandles. If a storm does become stronger to potentially severe it would main pose a smaller hail and lower end wind threat.

If storms move into the western Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle from the higher terrain of New Mexico, it would not be until later in the afternoon and evening hours. Storms could move in as early at 5pm and linger through around midnight.

Slight chance for an isolated storm or two in the western combined Panhandles late this afternoon into early evening. A bit later, into the evening scattered to widespread storms may clip the southwest Texas Panhandle. There is a severe potential with any storms today with damaging winds the main threat.
