A slow moving storm system over the northern Gulf Coast will continue periods of showers and thunderstorms over much of the Southeast U.S. through this weekend. It won't be a high chance, but we will see a chance of a shower or thunderstorms, favoring the Texas Panhandle later this afternoon. Lightning and gusty winds will be main hazards with any robust thunderstorm. Will have to also watch for any localized flooding if heavy rains develop on an already saturated surface after rain over the past few days.

Overall drier and warmer weather is expected for the days to come. By next week we'll be back in the 80's and and even lower 90's for some places. Our next cold front should arrive on Thursday and will bring temperatures back down to the 70's and 80's.
