Significant Coastal Impacts from Nor'Easter; Hurricane Nolo Bring Gusty Winds and Heavy Rain to Hawaii

A nor'easter will continue to bring significant coastal impacts to the Mid-Atlantic and New England into Monday. Moderate to major coastal flooding, heavy rain, strong winds, and high surf are expected. Hurricane Nolo will remain south of the Big Island of Hawaii with gusty winds and heavy rainfall that may bring significant, life-threatening flooding and mudslides through the weekend. Read More >

Flooding Potential Continues Wednesday
As current Hurricane Polo is forecast to move inland next week, the moisture associated with its remnants will stream into the southwest United States. This is forecast to interact with an incoming upper level low pressure system and bring additional rainfall to the combined Panhandles and much of the Southern Plains. Given recent rainfall, there is great concern for flooding potential across the region and this will be closely monitored through the weekend into early next week, with forecast updates that residents should continue to monitor.

Rain may begin late Monday night with increasing potential for flooding concerns on Tuesday. The primary area of concern during this time period will be in the southwest Panhandle, where rainfall will start earlier and where recent rainfall resulted in several inches of rain.

As tropical moisture continues to stream into the region, several rounds of rain, some heavy at times, could bring at least a 40% chance for excessive rainfall and flash flooding to a large portion of the combined Panhandle. This is mainly Tuesday through Tuesday night.
