Persistent onshore flow across the Southeast and portions of the mid-Atlantic will keep the risk of rip currents through the weekend. Rainfall could be locally heavy across Florida, especially along the eastern shoreline. Meanwhile, record warmth for portions of the Plains and Midwest with elevated fire concerns. Weekend Ends With Another Very Warm Day
Isolated thunderstorms will be possible late this afternoon and evening across much of the area, but chances increase some after 1 AM as a cold front approaches. Although the chances are very low, less than 5%, can't rule out a severe thunderstorm or two late this afternoon and evening. If this were to occur, wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters would be the primary hazards. Be sure to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts!

Cooler temperatures will move in behind Monday's cold front along with chances for showers and thunderstorms. Currently the better rain chances are favoring Monday night, but there's at least a low chance for showers and thunderstorms during the day Monday as well as Tuesday and Tuesday night. Some rain may linger into Wednesday morning, but clouds are favored to begin clearing in the afternoon.
