Extremely critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop across the Great Basin and Southwest today, and exceptionally dry and windy conditions will promote rapid wildfire spread through the weekend. ...Frost/Freeze Program for Spring 2025...

The frost/freeze program for spring 2025 will start on May 11th
for the Downeast Region. The program will expand northward on May
21st to include most of the remainder of Northern and Eastern
Maine. The only areas where the program does not become active
until June 1st are across Northern Somerset, Northern Piscataquis,
and Northwest Aroostook Counties. In the meantime, if you have any
sensitive vegetation, please check the latest temperature
forecasts at weather.gov/car for the most up to date forecasts.

A frost advisory will be issued if the temperatures are expected
to drop to 32 to 36 degrees, and a freeze warning will be issued
if temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. If you have
