Areas of Severe Weather and Flash Flooding

The threat for severe weather and flash flooding continues in several spots across the country. An enhanced risk of severe storms is likely from KS to TX, w/ very large hail and damaging winds being the main concern, while a slight severe threat covers the Mid-Atlantic.   • January 9, 2016: Minor snow event brings 1" to 4" across northern Illinois
  • December 28, 2015: Sleet & freezing rain event; likely daily sleet record for Chicago
  • December 2, 2015: Minor snow event brings moderate snow & low visibility during morning rush hour
  • November 20-21, 2015: Second largest November snowstorm on record for Rockford & Chicago; totals up to 18" near WI stateline
