Warm weather continues this week with mostly dry and quiet weather. The exception will be for Friday afternoon where areas off the Caprock could see a few thunderstorms develop.

 

 

 

Local Weather History For May 19th...
1978: Late this day, tornadic thunderstorms struck portions of Hale, Swisher, Hall, and Cottle Counties. In total, four
tornadoes were sighted; two of which produced damage. The first tornado began at 1623 seven miles west of Edmonson causing
minor damage to fences and trees. The second tornado was brief and touched down just southeast of Kress over open country.
The next tornado occurred near Parnell in eastern Hall County around 1840 and remained over undeveloped land. Ten minutes
later, a separate storm produced a tornado 15 miles east of Paducah blowing a pickup truck 150 yards. This tornado also
broke three light poles and removed the roof from a shed. No injuries resulted from these tornadoes.
