Extended Forecast

An upper-level storm system will move across the Desert Southwest and into West Texas today, with rain chances arriving in the afternoon and lasting through Saturday evening. Most locations are expected to see at least some rainfall, with the highest chances for a half inch or more remaining mostly off the Caprock.

A few strong storms will be possible this afternoon through tonight, especially off the Caprock. The main threats will be hail up to the size of quarters and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Today will begin dry, but chances for rain and thunderstorms will increase throughout the day and into the overnight hours. The chance for severe thunderstorms remains low.
