The heat can sneak up on you quickly. Do these things to help deal with the dangerous heat.

Another hot day is in store Sunday, with high temperatures up to 104 degrees and heat indices up to 110 degrees forecast. Make sure to take precautions if planning time outside! Warm overnight low temperatures into Monday will prolong the heat risk compared to previous days.

There is potential for widely scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon into evening on both Sunday and Monday. While severe weather is not expected, storms will bring lightning and gusty winds which will be a concern for those who are outdoors.

Hot and humid conditions continue with very low rain and storm chances across mainly north-central into south-central Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday. Additional precipitation chances are possible by the middle of the upcoming week.

Local Weather History For September 6th...

An unusual nighttime warm up occurred at Will Rogers World Airport
early on September 6, 1992. At 12:50 AM, the temperature was 71
degrees with a south wind. Just 25 minutes later, at 1:15 AM, the
temperature was up to 83 degrees. The warm up was due to a
heat-burst, caused by downward flowing air from a dissipating
thunderstorm. By 2:05 AM, the temperature had returned to a more
average reading of 66 degrees.
