Excessive rainfall may produce locally considerable flash flooding over parts of the northwestern Gulf Coast, lower Mississippi River Valley, and Deep South through Thursday. Scattered severe thunderstorms across portions of northwestern Oklahoma will continue to pose a risk for large hail and damaging wind gusts through late Tuesday evening.

Hot & humid conditions return Wednesday with heat index values between 100-109 degrees during the afternoon. A Heat Advisory will be in effect across much of our area during the afternoon hours until shortly after sunset.

There is a risk of severe storms Wednesday evening across parts of northern Oklahoma.

Severe thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon into night with large hail and damaging winds as the main concerns.

Local Weather History For June 16th...

Scattered severe thunderstorms over the eastern Texas panhandle and
moved into southwest Oklahoma on this date back in 2011. Hail over
two inches in diameter was reported in and around Altus, as well as
wind gusts that exceeded 70 mph. In fact, severe wind gusts were
reported in and around Altus for around 45 minutes.
