Severe thunderstorms will be possible near a cold front on Wednesday afternoon into evening across northern Oklahoma. Damaging wind gusts and hail are the primary thunderstorm hazards.
Triple-digit temperatures and heat indices continue on Wednesday. The potential for increasing clouds and rain/storms may limit the length of dangerous heat across northern Oklahoma during the early evening. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 12 PM to 7 PM.
The arrival of a cold front will bring about at least a brief pattern change, including chances for more widespread/numerous showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon into Thursday.
Our widespread heatwave continues through this evening prior to the arrival of a cold front. The front will offer the highest potential for precipitation we've seen in some time across the area. We look to generally warm into the weekend with at least low chances for rain/storms lingering, especially across the northern half of Oklahoma.
