Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts and a few strong tornadoes are likely from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic tonight. Moderate Risk (level 4 of 5) of severe thunderstorms is outlooked for the Midwest. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms may lead to flooding concerns across the area through the weekend. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches, with locally higher amounts are possible.
There is a marginal risk of severe storms on Friday from late evening through the overnight. Large hail and damaging winds will be possible.
There is a slight risk of severe storms on Saturday from late afternoon through the evening. Large hail and damaging winds will be possible.
Severe thunderstorms will be possible near and south of the Red River on Sunday. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main hazards.
Hot and humid conditions are expected again Saturday, with triple-digit heat indices in the afternoon. Scattered shower and storm chances continue each day.

Local Weather History For June 12th...
On this date in 1942, the second deadliest tornado to strike the
Oklahoma City area occurred on the southwest side of town, killing 35
people. The Oklahoma City area has been struck by tornadoes more than
160 times since 1890.
