Flooding Threat Continues in Portions of Texas; Poor Air Quality in the Great Lakes through the Mid-Atlantic

Widespread life-threatening flash and urban flooding continues in south-central Texas, with considerable flooding impacts possible across central Texas. Wildfire smoke is impacting air quality across much of the Great Lakes region into southern New England and the Mid-Atlantic. The National Weather Service has declared March 16th through 22nd as Flood Safety Awareness Week. A different educational topic will be featured each day during the week. Flooding is a coast-to-coast threat to the United States and its territories in all months of the year. National Flood Safety Awareness Week is intended to highlight some of the many ways floods can occur, the hazards associated with floods, and what you can do to save life and property.
