For our region (southwest Georgia, southeast Alabama, the eastern Florida Panhandle, and the Florida Big Bend), impacts will likely be confined to increased rain chances and elevated marine and beach hazards, such as a higher risk of rip currents, high surf, and rough seas for mariners. Most of these impacts will be felt in our forecast area today and Thursday. The National Hurricane Center gives the system a 40% chance of development over the next few days.
