Radar loop of North and Central Georgia.
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with high rainfall rates due to a stalled frontal boundary and moisture from Tropical Storm Bertha could lead to localized flash flooding through Saturday night, with the greatest risk through Friday across low-lying, poor-drainage, mountainous, and urban areas.
A Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday night for portions of north Georgia. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with high rainfall rates will increase the risk for localized flash flooding. Widespread rainfall of 2 to 4 inches will be possible with locally higher amounts of 5 inches or more. Low-lying, poor-drainage, mountainous, and urban areas will be the most susceptible to flash flooding.
If you were hoping for some relief from the heat and humidity, we don't have great news. After slightly cooler conditions this weekend, the heat is expected to build across Georgia again next week. Continue to remember to practice heat safety precautions!
Here are the forecast low temperatures and precipitation chances for tonight.
