Radar loop of Georgia
Showers and thunderstorms possible nearly every day this week. Chances increase from the north and west, spreading south and east, through Friday. Chances peak each day in the afternoon and evening before decreasing overnight and in the early morning hours. Areas of heavy rainfall will be possible with local amounts well over 1" possible each day, though other areas may simultaneously receive little to no rainfall. Temperatures remain mostly consistent with highs mostly in the 80s to near 90 each day. Lows in the 60s to near 70.
Expecting scattered thunderstorms to continue through at least this weekend. Rainfall totals of 2-3" across north Georgia and 0.5-1.5" across central Georgia are expected. Locally higher amounts over 3" are possible if storms repeatedly move over the same areas especially in the northeast. There will be "winners" each day that receive rainfall while there will be areas that do not receive any rainfall which is the nature with these pop up thunderstorms.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop in the afternoon and evening Friday. Several storms could become severe, capable of producing damaging wind gusts, especially across north Georgia and the ATL metro. Current best timing is from noon to midnight.
