An atmospheric river will bring gusty to high winds, moderate to heavy rainfall, and potential flooding to California today through Saturday. Heavy snow will be possible over the Sierra Nevada mountains into Friday associated with this atmospheric river. This will likely result in drier weather for us in the Panhandles, with the chance of precipitation now under 10%. However, there are still hints of a new system moving through by the middle of next week, which could bring more chances for precipitation.

The warming trend for the Panhandles is accelerating today, with afternoon high temperatures expected to reach the 70s to low 80s. These temperatures could climb even higher than the forecast, possibly challenging or even breaking a few record high temperatures this afternoon.

Hot temperatures are expected to return on Friday across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. Afternoon highs are currently forecasted in the upper 70s to mid-80s, but temperatures could potentially exceed these expectations. These warmer conditions might break the current record highs for November 14th, which are set in the low 80s.
