Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. The beginning of the new week will see the Panhandles return to a dry and warm weather pattern as high pressure returns. However, the pattern begins to shift Wednesday as the first of two cold fronts moves across the area and moderates the temperature. A stronger cold front is expected to follow on Friday, potentially leading to high temperatures closer to the low 40s by that afternoon.
