An atmospheric river will continue to bring gusty winds, moderate to heavy rainfall, and potential flooding to southern California and the southern Great Basin through Sunday. This system is expected to bring rain chances to the southern US, but will the Panhandles get any rainfall from this system? Unfortunately for us right now, the system is forecast to be faster moving which would lead to lesser chances for rain and lighter amounts. The details with a system this far out can and usually do change, so further updates on this system will be forthcoming throughout the week.

Dry weather is expected to persist through the weekend with a weak cold front helping to regulate temperatures come Sunday and Monday. However, latest trends continue to see the potential for a more active weather pattern to follow later in the week. Currently, chances are sitting at around 20 to 45%, but, with so much uncertainty still present, make sure you are checking back for more updates.
