Widespread thunderstorms are expected from Wednesday afternoon and persisting overnight into Thursday morning. These storms will bring the risk for damaging wind gusts as well as a few tornadoes. A strong tornado cannot be ruled out.

Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will spread across the area Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. Thunderstorms may train over the same area, leading to the potential for flash flooding, especially across north Georgia.

A Flood Watch has been issued from 4 PM Wednesday to 8 AM Thursday for much of north Georgia. Thunderstorms could bring heavy rainfall amounts that lead to flash flooding.
