Isaias made landfall around 9:30 AM near Destin, FL. Since then, it has become a post-tropical cyclone with maximum winds of 35 mph. Hazardous conditions continue throughout today! Potential Impacts for North and Central Georgia include a long duration of strong wind gusts (35-45+ mph) with occasional gusts up to 60 MPH, heavy rainfall and localized flash/river flooding, and several tornadoes.

Isaias will bring rounds of heavy rainfall to area through early Sunday, creating a risk for flash flooding. Additional widespread totals of 1-3” are expected with localized amounts of up to 6”. The locations most at risk for flash flooding are poor drainage and urban areas, as well as creeks and streams prone to rapid rises.

A long duration threat of strong and gusty winds will continue across North and Central GA through Sunday AM. Sustained easterly winds of 15-25 mph with frequent gusts 35-45 mph. Isolated gusts up to 60 mph are possible over the North GA mountains.

Rainbands associated with Isaias will overspread the area through tonight. Several tornadoes and damaging wind gusts will be possible within these bands.
