Highs will remain in the 90s areawide into early next week. While temperatures and heat index values will remain below advisory criteria, we are still running some 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year.

Increased moisture will lead to scattered storms areawide on Saturday afternoon. Storms in north and west-central Georgia will be most likely to become strong to severe and capable of damaging wind gusts. Heavy rain and frequent lightning will be present with all storms.

Moisture will spread across North and Central Georgia over the the weekend. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be around each day into early next week. A few storms during this period may be strong to severe, with gusty to damaging winds as the primary threat.
