National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible tonight with the best chances generally south of I-20 and east of I- 35. Locally heavy rainfall, gusty wind and lightning will be the main hazards. Overnight lows will be in the lower and middle 70s.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms continue Wednesday and Thursday with the highest chances east of I-35 each day. While severe storms aren't expected during this time period, gusty winds may accompany stronger storms on Thursday.
Hot weather will return this weekend with forecast high temperatures in the mid 90s (east) to lower 100s (west). Humid conditions will result in afternoon heat index values rising into the lower 100s, with a few locations likely seeing heat index values in the mid 100s. This extreme heat can cause heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Outdoor activities should be avoided during the hottest part of the day. If participating in any outdoor activities, caution should be exercised by wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing if possible, and drinking plenty of water. Take frequent breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
