Last Map Update: Sun, Dec 28, 2025 at 2:12:23 pm CST

A strong cold front moving through late this morning into the early afternoon will bring strong northerly winds. A wind advisory is in effect for the extreme southeastern Texas Panhandle and eastern Rolling Plains where sustained winds will exceed 30 mph.
Winter has returned behind today's cold front, with much chillier conditions expected tonight and Monday. Temperatures Monday will struggle to warm out of the 30s to low 40s under cloudy skies. A few snow flurries are possible across much of the Caprock Monday, with some very light accumulation not out of the question either across SW portions of the South Plains.
Although most locations will only see a few flurries, some light accumulations of snow are possible on Monday across southwestern portions of the South Plains. Parts of Yoakum and Terry Counties could see up to about a half inch of snow accumulation, but impacts are expected to be minimal at this time.
A gradual warming trend is expected this week, with well above average temperatures in the 70s returning by New Year's Day.
