Peak Winds 90 MPH Path Length 0.07 Miles Max Width 25 Yards Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: A brief tornado developed over the North Shore neighborhood near Lazy Ike Road and traveled southeast. One building experienced complete roof loss, and several large cottonwood trees were either uprooted or had top branches snapped off. One tree, approximately two feet in diameter, fell on a vehicle.  Track Map

Tornado #2 2 ESE Lemoyne Date May 23, 2024 Time (Local) 5:37 PM MDT EF Rating EF-1 Est. Peak Winds 90 MPH Path Length 0.29 Miles Max Width 50 yards Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: A tornado developed in open prairie east of North Shore where a pattern of flattened grass was observed. The tornado traveled north across railroad tracks and flattened a fence line.  Track Map

Tornado #3 2.2 E Lemoyne Date May 23, 2024 Time (Local) 5:39 PM MDT EF Rating EF-2 Est. Peak Winds 130 MPH Path Length 0.30 Miles Max Width 200 yards Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: A brief, but significant, tornado developed in the Lakeview subdivision and traveled northeast. Multiple dwellings suffered damage, including a large pole barn destroyed and single family homes with roof or exterior wall loss. Multiple trees were also downed.  Track Map

Tornado #4 2.3 ESE Lemoyne Date May 23, 2024 Time (Local) 5:44 PM CDT EF Rating EF-1 Est. Peak Winds 90 MPH Path Length 0.12 Miles Max Width 25 yards Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: A brief tornado developed along the northern beach, generally east of North Shore and south of Lakeview neighborhoods, and traveled east. One camper was flipped. Multiple cottonwood trees were either snapped, uprooted, or had large branches broken.  Track Map

Tornado (Waterspout) #5 1.4 SW Belmar Date May 23, 2024 Time (Local) 5:12 PM MDT EF Rating UKN Est. Peak Winds UKN Path Length UKN Max Width UKN Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: Photo via social media confirms waterspout at approximately 1.4 miles southwest of Belmar. Tornado #10 6 SW Brule Date May 23, 2024 Time (Local) 5:29 PM MDT EF Rating EF-1 Est. Peak Winds 107 MPH Path Length 5.6 Miles Max Width 430 Yards Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: Tornado touched down southwest of Brule just to the north of Road West 40, snapping trees and heavily damaging multiple irrigation pivots. The tornado continued to the east, damaging additional irrigation pivots along with outbuildings at multiple farmsteads. The tornado then turned to the north, ending just south of Interstate 80, with last visible damage to irrigation pivots just to the south of the town of Brule. Tornado #11 1.5 ESE Lemoyne Date May 23, 2024 Time (Local) 5:36 PM MDT EF Rating EF-0 Est. Peak Winds 80 MPH Path Length 2.0 Miles Max Width 200 Yards Injuries/Deaths 0/0 Summary: This tornado began just to the southwest of Brule, with damage noted to hardwood trees and an irrigation pivot was overturned. The tornado continued to the southeast for two additional miles before ending, overturning additional irrigation pivots and destroying a storage outbuilding at a farmstead.
