Storm Systems Continue to Impact the Pacific Northwest; Lake Effect Snow Continues

A second Pacific cold front will cross the Pacific Northwest Wednesday followed by another atmospheric river. Each of these features will bring additional periods of gusty winds, mountain snow, and heavy to excessive rainfall with renewed flooding. This page houses climatological snowfall data for the NWS Chicago County Warning Area (CWA), a 23 county area that includes a large portion of northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.  Much of the information is for two official climate sites, Chicago and Rockford, as these locations have longtime, quality-controlled climate data.
