1959: A terrific storm engulfed much of the Lone Star State this afternoon and evening complete with blowing dust up to
12,000 feet high at Midland, a blizzard in the TX Panhandle where up to ten inches of snow fell, and strong and severe thunderstorms in east TX. The high winds in West TX damaged many roofs and outbuildings, broke plate glass windows, downed trees, and damaged T V antennas. In the Panhandle of Texas, ferocious wind-driven snow blown along by winds gusting to 80 mph created a number of vehicle accidents. |
