Critical fire weather conditions are expected again on Tuesday for much of the forecast area. A Red Flag Warning is in effect today noon until 8 PM CDT for the South Plains and much of the far southern TX Panhandle.
Today will be the last of the very warm and breezy days this week thanks to a cold front arriving tonight.
Temperatures cool off for the last half of the week complete with widespread rain chances from Thursday night into Friday. Heavy rain will be possible before drier air returns this weekend.

Local Weather History For April 27th...
1981: Extensive damage to vehicles and camper bodies occurred in Plains late this evening as a slow-moving thunderstorm
drifted east-northeast. Strong winds accompanied the hail that at times reached the size of golf balls. This same storm
later produced a cluster of funnels northeast of the city.
