Much cooler temperatures await today and tonight under partly cloudy skies.

Temperatures cool off for the last half of the week complete with widespread rain chances Thursday and especially Friday. Heavy rain will be possible before drier air returns this weekend.

After scattered showers and a few storms on Thursday, widespread showers and occasional thunderstorms develop on Friday. Once rain ends Friday night, many areas could see 0.5" to 1" or more of rain.
