A low pressure system developed over the Midwest and slowly began to track east through the day on June 18th 2025. Ahead of the developing cold front during the morning, there were some additional storms as well as into the early afternoon. These cells did not disrupt the amount of instability available for the late afternoon and evening convection. In fact, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued. Surface based CAPE values were between 2000 and 3000 J/Kg for this event with plenty of shear. By the evening period a squall line developed ahead of the front as the front tracked east. The squall line began to enter the forecast area in Ohio around 9pm and tracked across the forecast area. There were numerous reports of wind damage across the forecast area. This was mainly north of I-70. The line decayed and moved out of the area by 1am. |
