Tracking Areas of Severe Thunderstorms, Excessive Rainfall, and Excessive Heat Today

Scattered severe thunderstorms will be possible from parts of the Midwest to the Mid-South and southern Plains, this afternoon and evening. Excessive rainfall may bring the potential for localized flash and small stream flooding impacts, along with river rises to parts of the ArkLaTex today and tonight. There will be a risk of severe thunderstorms, mainly this evening into the overnight hours across the northwest half of the Four State Region. Large hail, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall will be the main threats but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
There will be another threat for strong to severe thunderstorms across portions of the Four State Region late Sunday.
