Strong to Severe Thunderstorms in the East; Heat in the Central and Western U.S.

Strong to potentially severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are forecast Thursday from parts of New England into the Mid Atlantic and Carolinas. Significant heat will expand across the West and Central Plains through Friday, potentially breaking daily high temperature records. Forecast high temperatures across interior NorCal for today, June 18, 2025.
As dry weather persists this week, periods of elevated fire weather conditions will be possible across the northern and central Sacramento Valley as breezier winds develop late this week.
With hot air temperatures and still cold water temperatures expected today and into the week ahead, be sure to practice heat AND cold water safety!
