A line of strong to severe thunderstorms will move into northwest Georgia this evening. From there the storms will track south and east overnight. The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts of 50 mph to 70 mph. A couple of brief tornadoes, as well as hail, could also occur in severe storms.
This is the timing estimation for severe storms across north and central Georgia. The potential for damaing wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and hail is greatest north and west of I-85/I-20.
