Strong storms will continue to move into northeast Florida today, gusty winds and isolated quick spin ups possible through the afternoon.
Increasing winds will bring frequent gusts to Gale Force across the nearshore and offshore waters north of Saint Augustine into the Southeast Georgia waters. Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions.
🍂Extreme drought has overspread all of southeast Georgia, northeast and north central FL per the latest drought monitor. 🔥Multiple hard freezes this winter have dried available fuels and are combining with worsening drought conditions to increase the wildfire risk throughout our region. ⛈️ Widespread beneficial rainfall is expected on Thursday and Thursday night, but forecast rainfall amounts will likely not significantly improve ongoing extreme drought conditions. During a drought,💧conserve water, 🔥practice fire prevention and follow directions from local officials, especially if your county or municipality has been placed under a burn ban or water restrictions.
