Areas of Dangerous Heat and Heavy Rain with Possible Flooding into this Weekend

Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across much of northeast Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley into this weekend with heat advisories in effect. Heavy to excessive rainfall occurring at times through Saturday could bring areas of flooding across parts of the central Plains into the upper Midwest/Great Lakes, and Four Corners states.  Winter 2016-2017 Events

  • March 12-15, 2017: Clipper event followed by heavy lake effect snow including into northeast Illinois.
  • December 16-18, 2016:  Two minor snow events, including a heavy lake effect snow band with 8+ inches into far northwest Indiana 
  • December 10-11, 2016:  Snow totals of 6-12 inches across northeastern Illinois
     
  • December 4, 2016:  Heavy wet snowfall for the first event of the season; largest December snowfall for Chicago O'Hare in 11 years
