Storm Systems Continue to Impact the Pacific Northwest; Lake Effect Snow Continues

A second Pacific cold front will cross the Pacific Northwest Wednesday followed by another atmospheric river. Each of these features will bring additional periods of gusty winds, mountain snow, and heavy to excessive rainfall with renewed flooding. On January 25th and 26th, 2021, a swath of snow fell from the central Plains to Lower Great Lakes. In our area, the highest snow totals were generally along and north of I-88, where roughly 6 to 8 inches of snow fell along a narrow zone from Lee County to Lake County (IL). Higher totals were noted across Wisconsin and Iowa with this system.
