Another round of heavy rainfall will renew concerns for additional flash flooding and landslides in southern California around burn scars and coastal mountain ranges. A low pressure system is bringing enhanced snowfall downwind from the lower Great Lakes into the Northeast mountain ranges. January 19-20, 2024: Intense lake effect snow band in northwest Indiana produces around 1 foot of snow in northeast Porter County; closer to 3 feet farther east

Mid-Late January, 2024: Ice jams and river flooding along several area rivers

February 16, 2024: 1-4" of snow near and south of the Illinois and Kankakee river valleys

March 22, 2024: Heavy snow band produces up to 9" of snow accumulation in far northern Illinois
