Fast Facts

• A band of heavy snow set up over far northern Illinois during the morning and afternoon of Friday, March 22nd, producing notable snowfall accumulations across this part of the state.

• Up to 9" of snowfall accumulation was observed within a narrow corridor where the snow fell heaviest. A sharp snowfall gradient was also observed as locations just 20-25 miles south of this corridor saw less than an inch of snowfall.

• Rockford officially observed 5.6" of snow at Rockford Airport, breaking its daily snowfall record for March 22nd. Chicago officially observed 1.0" of snow at O'Hare Airport.
