At Chicago, the average high temperature was 28.9 degrees, which is 2.7 degrees below normal. The average low temperature was 14.9 degrees, which is 3.9 degrees below normal. The mean average temperature for the month was 21.9 degrees, which is 3.3 degrees below normal. 2.53 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded, which is 0.54 inches above normal. 11.3 inches of snow were recorded, which is exactly normal. The following daily records were set for Chicago this past December: * Record daily precipitation of 1.92 inches on the 8th, which is now the third rainiest January day on record. * Tied daily record high temperature of 60 on the 9th.
