Flooding and Rip Current Concerns from Chantal; Lingering Flood Watches in Central Texas

Chantal is now a Tropical Depression. Flash flood concerns continue across portions of central North Carolina into Monday. Life-threatening surf and rip currents conditions are expected to continue at beaches along the U.S. East Coast from northeastern Florida to the Mid-Atlantic states during the next day or so. Join us in Chicago and Morocco, IN this week for presentations on weather awareness and preparedness!  

These sessions will cover a wide array of topics relevant to the types of hazardous weather that occurs during the spring and summer months. These include thunderstorms, heat waves, and beach safety. Content is suitable for anyone age 10 and older, and will be taught in-person by an NWS Chicago meteorologist.
