Warmer temperatures and stronger wind gusts forecast today. Widespread gusts of 20 to 30 mph with stronger gusts of 35 to 40+ mph focused through the central highlands near Cliners Corners to Vaughn. Strong headwinds westbound on I-40 and crosswinds on north-to-south oriented highways will result in this area this afternoon. Elevated fire weather conditions will be present thru much of eastern NM as well.
A strong cold front brings a sharp drop in high temperatures to the eastern half of NM Sunday. Forecast highs range form the 40s to 50s thru eastern NM, with 50s and 60s along and west of the Rio Grande Valley.
