Beneficial rainfall will favor south-central and northern New Mexico this evening through Tuesday evening. Most areas will receive between 0.1 to 0.25 inches of rain, with isolated amounts up to 0.5" in the Sangre de Cristo mountains and Sacramento mountains
Showers and a few storms will spread across New Mexico from west to east tonight through Tuesday evening. Rainfall amounts between 0.10" and 0.25" will be most common near and south of I-40 as well as over the Northern Mountains. Outdoor activities may need to be rescheduled. Widespread showers and storms will continue through Tuesday evening. After a break on Wednesday and Thursday, wetter weather returns Friday through the weekend. A few severe storms may develop in eastern New Mexico on Friday and Saturday afternoons.
