Near record high temperatures expected in some lower elevation locations Monday and Tuesday.
A Heat Advisory is in effect Monday from noon until 7 PM MDT for the middle and lower Rio Grande Valley, the Chaves County Plains, and the San Francisco River Valley, including Albuquerque, Socorro, Glenwood, and Roswell.
The high temperature will probably reach around 108 degrees in Roswell on Tuesday, and around 104 degrees in Socorro.
Temperatures will warm above normal for the entire region through early next week. Highs in the mid 90s to low 100s will be common in many lower elevation areas. Areas around Roswell may reach up to 110 degrees by Tuesday.
The greatest fire weather concerns will be over west central and southwest areas, where fuels are driest.
The thunderstorm threat matrix indicates the probability of thunderstorms over wildfire burn areas.
