Strong winds and low humidity combine to create high fire danger, with the most widespread critical conditions through Monday. Locally extreme fire weather possible both days over parts of eastern NM. New and existing fire starts may spread rapidly.
Strong southwest to west winds with very low humidity increases the risk of rapid fire spread over southeastern half of NM again. Locally extreme fire weather is possible across northeast NM.
Strong to potentially damaging winds are forecast along and immediately east of the central mountain chain Monday. A High Wind Watch is in effect from early Monday into Monday evening.
