A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon and Ruidoso area burn scars on Monday. There is also a margnial to slight risk of off-scar flash flooding in central and eastern New Mexico due to heavy rainfall rates and slow storm motions.
Rain chances increase around the region tomorrow, with the highest storm coverage along the central mountain chain. This will increase the risk of flash flooding, particularly over recent burn scars where a Flash Flood Watch is in effect from Noon until Midnight.
The thunderstorm threat matrix indicates the probability of thunderstorms over wildfire burn areas.
