Hazardous heat is forecast in central and western valleys today and Thursday. After a downtick in thunderstorm coverage most places today, an active monsoon thunderstorm pattern will develop Thursday through Tuesday with a risk of locally heavy rainfall, burn scar flash flooding each day. Some strong-to-severe thunderstorms are also expected each day over eastern areas.
