Precipitation chances shift into northwest New Mexico Thursday and Friday. Coverage of showers and storms is likely to increase Saturday as the remnant moisture from Hurricane Priscilla moves into the Desert Southwest. Notable rainfall amounts are forecast over the next several days, especially in the Four Corners and the Gila region.
Active weather continues with low clouds and fog over significant portions of eastern NM. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will favor areas along the Continental Divide and central mountain chain.
Abundant moisture surging into the southwest U.S. will keep rainfall chances in place through early next week. Rainfall amounts over the next 7 days may push 1 to 2" over a large part of the region, especially northern and western NM.
