Wintry travel across the northern mountains of New Mexico this evening through Friday night. Several inches (5 to 12") of heavy, wet late season snow will accumulate, mainly above 9,000 feet in the northern mountains, and especially over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Widespread rain favoring eastern New Mexico this evening through Friday, as two upper level disturbances approach while a moist front arrives from the east. Rainfall amounts of at least half an inch are very likely across eastern New Mexico with around 1 to 2 across southeast New Mexico.
Gusty east canyon winds will develop near canyon openings across central New Mexico, including portions of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, later this evening through tonight. Gusts of up to 55 mph are expected across the eastern Albuquerque area, including Tramway Boulevard.
Cooler temperatures on Friday due to precipitation before warming up to more seasonable readings by Sunday. Widespread rain arrives, especially across eastern New Mexico, this evening into Friday.
