Monitor Weather.Gov/ABQ for updates to Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories.
Wind will cause the greatest problems across northeast New Mexico, where it will pickup and blow the snow producing white-out conditions at times.
Minor to moderate winter storm impacts across most of the high terrain in New Mexico through Friday. Impacts will generally include snow packed roads and low visibility with areas of blowing snow and snow squall conditions in northeastern NM.
Winter is coming! The coldest temperatures thus far this season will arrive Friday night into Saturday morning with another cold night in store for Saturday night into Sunday morning. Be sure to check on neighbors and ensure they have adequate heating.
Highways 56 and 64/87 across northeast NM will also experience major impacts due to snow and blowing snow on Friday.
