Significant Coastal Impacts from Nor'Easter; Hurricane Nolo Bring Gusty Winds and Heavy Rain to Hawaii

Another Monsoon Surge

Preliminary rainfall totals over the past 14 days have been extraordinary across the region. Some of these totals rival entire summer monsoon averages and several points will break all-time record September monthly rainfall amounts.

Heavy runoff from multiple days of rain is working its way down the Pecos River. The Pecos River near Lake Arthur, south of Roswell, is forecast to rise to minor flood stage early tomorrow morning before dropping below action stage tomorrow afternoon. Many other streams and rivers are seeing rises as recent heavy rains continue to work its way through these drainages.

Yet another impressive and potentially dangerous monsoon surge brings another multi-day period of showers and thunderstorms. Beginning late Sunday/Sunday night with scattered storm coverage, this surge ramps up Monday and Tuesday, lasting through Wednesday and potentially into Thursday.

Another surge of monsoon moisture will arrive Sunday night and continue through Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms with long-duration periods of moderate rainfall may result in another stretch of flooding, especially in areas already saturated by recent heavy rainfall.

Widespread rain, numerous showers, and scattered thunderstorms prevail from Monday through Tuesday night, then decrease in coverage late Wednesday into Thursday.
