Back-to-Back Winter Storms Across the North-Central U.S.; Severe Weather Threat in the Midwest

A late-season winter storm continues to bring heavy snow, significant sleet, and disruptive icing to the Upper Midwest and western Great Lakes into the morning; and will be followed by another storm. Overview

A widespread severe weather outbreak occurred during the afternoon and evening of the 26th of July. Many locations across Central Pennsylvania had trees knocked down by thunderstorm wind gusts. The main severe signatures that day were bow echoes with high velocities. Little rotation was seen in most of these storms. As a result, no tornadoes occurred.
